Chantilly, VA – April 17, 2012

Iron Bow Technologies LLC, an information technology solutions provider, announced today that its Chief Technology Officer, Jim Smid, has been appointed to the Intel Solution Provider Advisory Council. During his term, he will advise Intel on its development of new products, channel program benefits and other concerns of Intel Technology Provider program members.

“I am honored to join the Intel Solution Provider Advisory Council, which provides Iron Bow a platform by which to help shape technology solutions as they are first emerging within our market,” said Smid. “Initiatives like these reflect our larger effort to deliver the solutions that best align with each of our customers’ business goals and missions. Iron Bow is particularly excited to have been working with Intel on the launch of the recently announced Intel® Xeon E5-2600 processor family. These new processors, with their advances in performance, security, virtualization and power management, are at the heart of our data center and cloud strategies.”

The Intel Solution Provider Advisory Council consists of 15-20 executives from top members of the Intel Technology Provider program. As a council member, Smid will play a key advisory role in helping Intel develop products that are relevant to resellers’ customer needs, and channel program benefits that keep members competitive in the marketplace. The council also provides Intel’s channel membership with a consolidated voice heard by Intel senior management.

“Jim’s extensive experience in the IT industry makes him a valued member of the Intel Solution Provider Advisory Council,” said Ed Sarno, Intel Marketing Development Manager. “Intel feels we create better products and programs based on feedback from industry experts such as Jim Smid. We are honored to have him on the board and look forward to the many great ideas he will bring to product planning and program development at Intel.”

With 20 years of experience in IT engineering, sales, project and business management for the federal and commercial marketplaces, Smid manages the company’s technology practice directors supporting over $825 million in sales annually. Prior to joining Iron Bow, Smid managed a team of engineers at EMC working with DoD agencies to design and deploy virtualization, storage infrastructure, security, data management and COOP solutions.
