Chantilly, VA – March 16, 2010
Iron Bow Technologies, formerly Apptis Technology Solutions, a technology solutions provider and value-added reseller, is a proud sponsor at the 24th Annual National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass, Colorado from March 28 through April 2, the largest adaptive event of its kind. The event provides more than 400 veterans a diverse range of training programs, from rock climbing and scuba diving, to a U.S. Secret Service-led self-defense class.
“In our seventh year of participation, Iron Bow Technologies is privileged once again to be a sponsor of the Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic,” said Rene LaVigne, President and CEO of Iron Bow Technologies. “This is a meaningful way for Iron Bow to show its appreciation for our servicemen and women.”
The six-day program is open to all qualifying veterans who receive care at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care facilities. The initiative seeks to help military veterans with spinal cord injuries or disease, visual impairments, certain neurological conditions, orthopedic amputations and other disabilities. The event will teach veterans about adaptive Alpine and Nordic skiing while introducing them to a number of different sporting activities. Veterans will also have the opportunity to meet Bode Miller, 2010 Olympic gold medalist and members of the US Disabled Ski Team.
Iron Bow volunteers will help veterans participate in Nordic and Alpine skiing, rock climbing, scuba diving, sled hockey, target shooting and snowmobiling.
“We’re grateful for Iron Bow’s support and its employees’ commitment to the event. Without their help, and that of other Winter Sports Clinic sponsors, opportunities like this wouldn’t be possible for our veterans and their families,” said Arthur H. Wilson, DAV National Adjutant.
