Level Up Sales and Engineering Internship Program

By joining Iron Bow's internship, you'll be part of a 10-week summer program specifically designed to provide you with education, experience, and exposure to our sales and engineering organizations. We're looking for university students who have an interest in pursuing a career in sales, bring positive energy, are passionate about technology and innovation, and are committed to winning. As a summer intern, you will either work with account managers and the marketing team to build a pipeline from lead generation campaigns and support specific program opportunities or work directly with our lead engineering teams to understand Iron Bow's technical capabilities, tackle mission-critical challenges, and deliver impactful business outcomes for our customers.

Level Up Sales Academy (LUSA)

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will be immersed in an interactive sales training program that will allow you to learn about the latest technology advancements and how to effectively sell them to customers. A successful SDR will be trained to discover, build, and drive new opportunities with our customers and collaborate with the broader Iron Bow team to support our customers’ journey and business outcomes.


Learn from Iron Bow leaders, sales experts, and engineers in a dynamic, community environment. As you progress through the training, shadowing, and project-based experiences, you will move into a role that supports the pipeline growth of Iron Bow’s product, services, and support offerings to existing and prospective customers and partners via inbound activities and communications. As you progress in your role, there will be opportunities to move into the field sales organization as an associate account manager.

What qualifications do I need for this internship?
Currently, you must be a university student that has an interest in learning more about sales and technology. We look for those that demonstrate leadership, customer focused and entrepreneurial skills. As we expand our roles, there may be opportunities to hire interns that are outside the university scope.

I should apply for the Sales intern position if:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (No specific major required, but third year preferred)
    • Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Finance, etc. 
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Eagerness and ability to learn quickly and gain the trust of others through hard work, accuracy, and thoroughness in a fast-paced sales environment
  • A self-starter who can meet deadlines, work with a sense of urgency, multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in researching, influencing, organization, adaptability, flexibility, and time management is needed
  • Must be willing to be in the Herndon, VA office 4 days a week, with 1 remote workday

What can I expect for the application and interview process?
Applicant resumes will be reviewed and screened by our recruiting team to ensure that their educational background, experience, and expertise align with the roles and responsibilities of the intern position. Should the applicant be selected to move forward in the process, they will be required to complete a written/creative submission on a specific prompt before being selected for the final round, behavioral interview. Applicants can expect clear and consistent communication throughout the application and interview process.

What is the duration of the internship?
The internship is a 10-week program, typically starting early June and ending mid-August.

What are the working hours and days?
It is a 40-hour-per-week internship. Four days will be on-site at our Herndon, VA office, and Fridays will be virtual. We can discuss relocation to the area if needed.

Is this a paid or unpaid internship?
This is a competitively paid internship program.

What will be my responsibilities during the internship?
Each intern will have unique projects working with several sectors of our business within sales and engineering organizations.

What kind of training and support will be provided?
The intern cohort will have a new hire orientation along with high level training on sales and Iron Bow’s technology pillars. Additionally, there will be an executive speaker series, professional development series and activities that will add to the intern’s development. Dedicated management, mentorship and feedback will be provided throughout the summer.

Will I receive feedback on my performance during the internship?
Yes, you will receive feedback from account managers, leaders and dedicated management.

Is there a possibility of being hired after the internship?
Yes, there is an opportunity to receive a potential full-time position into our Level Up Sales Academy.

What is the dress code for the internship?

What qualifications do I need for this program?

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree (BS/BA minimum) in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications, Information Technology, Economics, Finance or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Must be able to legally live and work in the country for which you’re applying, without visa support or sponsorship (student visas or visas obtained on your own are not applicable for the program)
  • Must have a genuine interest in how technology can drive business outcomes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to collaborate with others and customers
  • Demonstrate accountability, adaptability and embrace change

Is relocation assistance provided to those who do not currently live in the DMV or neighboring areas?
At this time, we are not able to provide relocation to the area.
