Happy Pride Month

Pride Month is when the LGBTQ+ community and their allies come together to commemorate the progress made in the fight for equality and inclusion. By acknowledging the ongoing struggles facing the community today. This month is also an opportunity for everyone to deepen their understanding of the LGBTQ+ community, show support, and become better allies.

June was chosen for Pride Month as a way to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising which occurred on June 28, 1969, in New York City. This event was a pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ history and sparked a worldwide movement that continues to drive progress toward equality today. A big part of Pride Month is advocating for equality and acceptance.

We take part in this year’s Pride Festival held in Washington DC on Sunday, June 11 at Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 7th and 4th Street.
