Understanding the Differences Between NSA's Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)

At a glance:

  • • CSfC allows classified information to be protected, whether “in transit” or “at rest”, using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) encryption and products.

  • • CDS enables controlled data sharing between different security levels, enclaves or domains, such as unclassified and classified networks.

  • • Both Solutions are approved by the NSA for up to Top Secret data.
